Southern DataComm, Inc. provides full-time employees with one of the most comprehensive benefit programs in the industry offering a variety of pre-tax and post-tax benefits including:

Medical

Through Humana (one of the premier provider networks in this area), HDHP, HMO, PPO and POS Plans are available for you to choose from depending on your personal or family needs.


The HDHP coverage for you, our employee, is provided at no cost – the company pays 100% of your premium costs. If you elect, instead, one of the other levels of coverage, you merely pay the difference. Dependent coverage is also available at your expense. As an added incentive, the company makes a tax free contribution into a Health Savings Account each pay period for every employee who enrolls in the HDHP.

Pre-paid Legal Services

Full-time employees become eligible for coverage at the beginning of a calendar month following only sixty (60) days of employment. Additional information regarding these benefits will be made available to you upon reaching eligibility.

 

401(k) Retirement Plan

Our 401(k) Plan offers full time employees terrific investment opportunities and an employer match. Employees who have been with the Company three (3) months or longer are eligible to participate in this qualified retirement plan. For 2006, participants were eligible to contribute up to the IRS limit of $15,000 in a year. Participants aged 50 and above can contribute up to $20,000 in 2006. 

 

Vacation

Full-time employees receive paid vacation time off in the following increments per year of continuous service and accrued on a per pay period basis:

During years one through four: Two weeks (80 hours) per year.

 

Beginning year five and thereafter: Three weeks (120 hours) per year.

Other than the successful completion of a 90-day introductory period, there are no other restrictions on taking this time off – as the time accrues in your vacation bank, it is available for you to take it. 

 

Sick Leave

Full-time employees who have completed a 90-day introductory period are eligible to receive Sick Leave Benefits. All full-time employees may be paid up to a maximum of forty (40) hours per anniversary year. Unused Sick Leave Benefits may not be accrued, i.e., carried forward to the next anniversary year.

 

Holidays

Throughout the course of the year, Southern DataComm, Inc. observes a variety of national holidays. Since some departments within Southern DataComm, Inc. remain open for operation during all of these holidays, special scheduling and/or pay practices may apply. 

 

Education Assistance

We feel people who possess a desire to continue their education, in addition to performing their full-time jobs, show a commitment to improving themselves and their position within the Company. To encourage and reward these individuals, Southern DataComm offers an Education Assistance benefit. After one year of service, and with management approval, full-time employees may continue their education in a related field and, for a grade of B or better, Southern DataComm may reimburse all or part of the registration and tuition costs.
