Payment Processing Solutions

ProtoBase Suite

ProtoBase® Suite (Windows/UNIX)   More >>

ProtoBase is the software application that formats a transaction according to the third-party processor's specifications. Once the transaction is in the proper format, ProtoBase delivers that transaction over various transport mechanisms such as dial-up, TCP/IP, FTP, X.25, UDP, etc. and, if approved, is stored in a database that can be viewed and maintained through one of the user interfaces listed below.

SofTrans® Modules (All Platforms)
SofTrans modules are the interfaces to the various third-party processors. The SofTrans modules contain formatting requirements that adhere to an individual processor’s specifications. Each SofTrans module is certified for a specific transaction processor before it is released to merchants.

User Interfaces

PbAdmin® (Windows / Unix)   More >>
The PbAdmin client enables end-of-day processing, consolidated reporting, authorization maintenance, compliance data tracking, and chargeback retrieval processing. PbAdmin provides complete transaction management for the ProtoBase Software Suite.

RealVu (Windows)   More >>
RealVu provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to remote implementations of PbAdmin. This thin-client technology allows remote users to access and manage transactions without having to log onto the server running PbAdmin.

WebVu     More >>
WebVu offers browser-based local and remote access to manage transactions when in use with ProtoBase and PbAdmin software. WebVu enhances PbAdmin to make it accessible from any system via a web browser.

ProtoBase Front End Servers (Gateways)

Network! ProtoBase!    More >>
Network! ProtoBase! is the implementation of one or more disparate point-of-sale applications that use a single server that runs ProtoBase. This implementation consolidates all payment transactions in a single database for reconciliation, reporting and settlement.

TCP/IP
The ProtoBase TCP/IP gateway allows your POS/PMS application to communicate with ProtoBase software via TCP/IP socket calls.

JNetSend
The JNetSend e-Commerce component facilitates the conversion of either a Java API or XML document to the ProtoBase API. This interface then presents the converted data to the ProtoBase TCP/IP gateway for processing.

NetSend
The NetSend’s e-Commerce interface is an ActiveX control that provides a standard collection of methods and properties for formatting the ProtoBase API. This interface automatically presents data to the ProtoBase TCP/IP gateway for processing.

MICROS   More >>
The ProtoBase MICROS gateway allows the MICROS 3700, 8700, or 9700 point-of-sale system to seamlessly integrate to the ProtoBase Software Suite of products. This gateway enables your MICROS system to process payment transactions (high speed or dial-up) and consolidate all payment transactions in a centralized location.

Currency Conversion

ProtoBase DCC
The ProtoBase Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) application allows merchants to take advantage of additional revenue by performing the conversion of funds to the cardholder's native currency. This new functionality is easily integrated with existing certified ProtoBase users and provides a robust conversion of U.S. funds to several other currencies.

Peripheral Solutions

DevTrans™
DevTrans is SDC's peripheral device translator. DevTrans is an application that communicates via terminal drivers (using TCP/IP connection) to hardware devices (PIN pad) on the point-of-sale (POS) and routes the transactions to the ProtoBase Suite for processing. The transaction is then returned to the POS. The DevTrans suite of terminal drivers eases the integration of an existing POS with terminal hardware.

Aspen Terminal     More >>

The Aspen Terminal Application is designed to be implemented in conjunction with SDC’s Aspen Terminal SolutionSM(ATS) or as a component of a Network! ProtoBase! installation. This POS terminal application supports both dial-up and Ethernet connectivity. A merchant with an Aspen terminal has the ability to process credit, debit, check, private label, or gift/stored value electronic transactions, each of which can be authorized and/or settled to a different transaction processor.

SDC 1™ Modem    More >>
The SDC 1™ Modem was designed by Southern DataComm, Inc. (SDC) and manufactured with precise specifications for use with the ProtoBase® Software Suite. This modem uses industry standard RS-232 serial communication protocols via a standard telephone line. The use of this modem offers merchants a reliable, easy-to-install, and cost effective method of transmitting payment transactions to their preferred processor or financial institution.
